Indigo’s impact is about creating a space for understanding who we are, our strengths, skills, motivators, and the opportunities that unfold as a result. That’s why we’re excited to highlight the incredible work happening through Blue Valley CAPS and their Innovation & Entrepreneurship program.

CAPS (Center for Advanced Professional Studies) offers students a hands-on, real-world learning experience where they explore careers, build skills, and tackle complex challenges. At the heart of this program is the Innovator’s Toolkit, developed by Aaron Holthaus, CAPS Innovation & Entrepreneurship Instructor.

While this toolkit isn’t publicly available, you can learn more and explore the program through Blue Valley CAPS.

Innovator Toolkit - The Genius Canvas: "Self Discovery through Innovation and Entrepreneurship"

In the CAPS Innovation & Entrepreneurship course, students learn that innovation is a practice, not a one-time event. Through cycles of introspection, empathy, and problem-solving, they take ideas to market while testing assumptions and navigating uncertainty.

The Innovator’s Toolkit gives a structured approach to complex problems, building skills and an entrepreneurial mindset that extend beyond the classroom. At the heart of the course is the Genius Canvas, a visual roadmap guiding students from personal reflection to research, ideation, assessment, product development, business planning, and pitch presentations—equipping them with the tools to turn ideas into action.

Indigo supports this journey by helping students and advisors understand strengths, work DISC styles, communication tips, and career potential—complementing the CAPS Innovation Continuum perfectly. Together, we empower students to think critically, innovate confidently, and plan strategically for the future.

The future of work is rapidly evolving, and education must adapt to prepare students for what’s ahead. Through real-world, career-focused learning, students can discover their strengths, explore their passions, and connect them to meaningful opportunities.
