Indigo approaches workforce, leadership, and senior leadership development through a human-centered, design-driven learning model that is intentionally built to support growth over time—not just completion of individual training events. Our work integrates human-centered design, design thinking, and experiential learning to help individuals and teams build self-awareness, strengthen critical skills, and apply learning directly to real-world challenges. Our approach to skill development, mindset shifts, collaboration, and leadership effectiveness ensures that professional development efforts translate into meaningful, sustained impact for individuals and organizations.

A defining feature of Indigo’s work is the thoughtful integration of assessment-enabled development to deepen insight, support team effectiveness, and anchor learning in practical understanding. We offer custom workshops, facilitated learning experiences, and coaching engagements aligned to the unique needs of agencies, teams, and leaders. This flexibility allows State agencies to select offerings that are right-sized, relevant, and aligned to their specific workforce and organizational priorities.

Suite of Assessments

Indigo offers a suite of assessments that support workforce development, leadership development, and senior leader development by strengthening self-awareness, improving communication, and providing practical insight that can be translated into on-the-job behavior change. Our assessments are designed to be development-oriented and easy to apply—supporting coaching conversations, team alignment, and individualized growth plans without requiring participants to “speak assessment language” to benefit from the results.

Across our assessment offerings, Indigo emphasizes three principles:

Indigo Impact Logo TM (1).png

Practical insight over labels: results are framed as tools for reflection and action, not as fixed traits.

Indigo Impact Logo TM (1).png

Human-centered application: assessments are most valuable when paired with guided interpretation and real-world practice.

Indigo Impact Logo TM (1).png

Scalable use: agencies can use assessments with individuals, teams, cohorts, or at scale across departments, with optional debriefs and facilitated integration.

Expand the assessment options below to see descriptions of what each tool measures and how it is commonly used in professional development and leadership settings.

  • The Indigo Classic Assessment is a 30 minute strengths-based assessment that integrates behavioral style (DISC), intrinsic motivators, and strengths into a single, practical experience. Indigo developed this assessment in partnership with Target Training International (TTI), a global assessment and talent insights company with more than 40 years of research, validation, and applied experience across workforce, leadership, and organizational development.

The assessment is designed to help individuals understand how they naturally communicate, make decisions, approach work, and engage with others—while also clarifying what motivates them and where they bring the greatest value. Results are easy to interpret and highly actionable, making the Indigo Classic Assessment especially effective for team-based development and facilitated learning environments.

Indigo’s state clients have used this assessment extensively, including the Colorado Department of Education, where more than 400 employees have completed the Indigo Assessment and participated in Indigo-facilitated team building and professional development workshops over the past decade.

    Best suited for:

    • Professional development and training reinforcement

    • Team building and improving communication across styles

    • Onboarding and shared language for collaboration

    • Coaching and individual development planning

    • Manager and supervisor development

  • This expanded version of the Indigo Classic Assessment takes 45 minutes to complete and adds a durable skills layer (sometimes referred to as transferable or human skills) to connect self-awareness directly to skill development and performance. In addition to understanding how individuals behave and what motivates them, participants gain insight into the skills they use most naturally and those that may require more intentional development.

This assessment is particularly useful in workforce and leadership development contexts where agencies want to align self-awareness with competency frameworks and real job expectations. It helps participants see how strengths and motivators translate into observable skills such as communication, collaboration, accountability, and problem-solving.

    Best suited for:

    • Workforce development and upskilling initiatives

    • Leadership development programs aligned to competencies

    • Career development and transitions

    • Coaching with a skills-based focus

    • Training programs where skill application is a priority

  • The Hartman Value Profile (HVP) is a well-established assessment developed by philosopher and psychologist Dr. Robert S. Hartman. Unlike personality or preference tools, the HVP measures how individuals make judgments and assign value to people, tasks, and systems. It takes 15 minutes and provides insight into decision-making quality, prioritization, and ethical reasoning—especially under pressure.

Indigo uses its own version of the HVP to support leadership and senior leader development by helping individuals understand how they evaluate situations, where judgment may become distorted, and how those patterns impact leadership effectiveness, accountability, and decision-making.

    Best suited for:

    • Senior leader and executive development

    • Decision-making and judgment under complexity

    • Ethical leadership and accountability

    • Leadership coaching and assessment-based development

    • Leaders in high-stakes or high-pressure roles

  • The IndigoPathway Self-Awareness Assessment is a short-form 10 minute assessment designed to quickly build insight without requiring a significant time commitment. Agencies can select a strengths-focused, DISC-focused, or motivators-focused version depending on the development goal.

This assessment is intentionally accessible and is often used as a starting point for reflection, conversation, and goal setting. It works well in group settings and as pre-work for workshops or team sessions.

    Best suited for:

    • Onboarding and orientation

    • Short workshops or learning events

    • Team resets or introductions to self-awareness

    • Entry-level workforce development

    • Pre-work for training or facilitation

  • Indigo offers discounted options when Indigo-based assessments are paired with facilitated debriefs. Debriefs translate assessment results into practical insight, helping individuals and teams connect what they learned to real work situations, communication patterns, and development priorities.

Debriefs can be delivered one-on-one or in team settings and are a critical component when agencies want assessment results to drive actual behavior change.

    Best suited for:

    • Leadership and professional development programs

    • Team development and alignment

    • Coaching engagements

    • Change initiatives where insight must lead to action

  • This package supports agencies that want to deploy self-awareness assessments at scale while ensuring results are used effectively. It includes an administrative dashboard, group onboarding and advisor/leader enablement so teams can have meaningful conversations and apply results consistently.

    Best suited for:

    • Cohorts, departments, or agency-wide initiatives

    • Career advising and workforce development programs

    • Shared language across multiple teams

    • Sustained development efforts

  • The Team Profile provides an aggregated view of a team’s behavioral styles and motivators, focusing on how the team operates collectively rather than on individuals. It helps teams understand strengths, blind spots, and patterns that influence collaboration, trust, and decision-making.

    Best suited for:

    • Team building and alignment

    • Leadership team facilitation

    • Culture and trust-building work

    • Retreats and offsite sessions

  • The CART Barriers / Readiness Assessment identifies practical barriers that may interfere with performance, engagement, or readiness for change. It helps individuals and organizations understand what may be getting in the way before solutions are prescribed.

    Best suited for:

    • Coaching and individualized support

    • Workforce development and case management

    • Change readiness and planning

    • Targeted resource connection

  • Indigo’s EQ assessment is delivered in partnership with Target Training International (TTI) and is grounded in more than 40 years of research and applied practice in emotional intelligence and human performance. The assessment measures core EQ competencies, including self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management.

Results provide practical insight into how individuals manage emotions, respond to stress, communicate, and build relationships—capabilities that are critical in public-sector, education, and leadership environments.

    Best suited for:

    • Leadership and manager development

    • Communication and conflict management

    • Team effectiveness and trust-building

    • Coaching and professional development

  • The Hogan Assessment Suite is an industry-standard leadership assessment used globally for executive development and high-potential identification. Indigo offers the Hogan suite with facilitated debriefs led by Cybelle Lyon, Ph.D., an Industrial/Organizational Psychologist, ensuring results are interpreted accurately and applied thoughtfully.

    Best suited for:

    • Senior leaders and executives

    • High-potential and succession planning

    • Leaders in transition

    • High-stakes development and assessment needs

Cara Ugolini.JPG

Advanced Neuro-Based Executive Coaching for Senior Leaders

This advanced, neuro- and subconscious-based coaching offering is designed for senior leaders who are already successful but are experiencing persistent patterns that are difficult to break through traditional executive coaching. Led by Cara Ugolini, this work goes beneath surface-level behaviors to address the underlying neurological, emotional, and subconscious drivers that shape leadership responses, decision-making, and stress patterns.

Sessions support leaders in resolving over-responsibility, chronic burnout, imposter syndrome, and leadership fatigue; identifying and clearing job-related trauma where applicable; and learning to lead from a place of safety, presence, and alignment with core values. Leaders also develop the capacity to multiply their impact through empowerment, compassion, and clarity rather than overextension. Sessions are a minimum of 90 minutes to allow for deep, focused work. While sessions are longer than typical executive coaching, leaders often experience meaningful shifts in fewer sessions due to the depth and effectiveness of the neuro-based approach.

Cybelle Lyon.png

Senior Executive Coaching (with Cybelle Lyon, Ph.D.)

Dr. Lyon’s executive coaching offering is designed for senior leaders who need a high-trust, high-rigor development partner to strengthen leadership effectiveness in complex environments. Grounded in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Cybelle’s coaching is evidence-based and assessment-informed, helping leaders build sharper self-awareness, more effective interpersonal impact, and stronger decision-making under pressure. Coaching engagements typically begin with a clear understanding of the leader’s context and expectations and then translate insight into a focused, practical development plan.

A hallmark of this approach is the integration of assessment and stakeholder perspective to accelerate growth. Where appropriate, coaching incorporates validated leadership assessments and/or 360-degree feedback to identify strengths, potential derailers under stress, and the patterns that most influence team performance and organizational outcomes. Coaching then focuses on targeted behavior change—supporting leaders to communicate with greater clarity, navigate conflict and ambiguity, strengthen accountability, and build trust and engagement across teams.

Cybelle’s coaching style balances thoughtful challenge with practical support. Leaders leave sessions with concrete actions to apply immediately, along with tools to sustain progress between sessions. The intent is not coaching as conversation alone, but coaching that produces measurable shifts in leadership behavior, stronger alignment with organizational priorities, and improved outcomes for teams and stakeholders.
